Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491)

The Subclass 491 visa allows skilled workers and their families to live, work, and study in regional Australia for up to 5 years. It is a points-tested visa and requires either state/territory nomination or sponsorship from an eligible family member living in a regional area.

To qualify, applicants must be under 45 years old, have a positive skills assessment, and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).

Visa holders must live and work in designated regional areas for at least 3 years before becoming eligible to apply for permanent residency through the Subclass 191 visa.
